During the holidays, we offer a variety of special culinary and baking classes taught by our talented employees. Be a part of the excitement as you learn cookie and cake decorating, how to make special holiday treats, how to host a holiday party and many others. Zehnder’s Holiday How To’s take place November 8 through the 10, 2016. Classes and times vary.

Holiday How To Classes:

Lebkuchen Cookies and Pecan Tassies
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Cost $45 – Class Limit 18
Learn how to make Lebkuchen, a spicy molasses cookie which are an old-time favorite and Pecan Tassies, a bite-size pecan pie cookie. Both will look nice on your holiday cookie tray or to give as a gift. You take home 12 of each and a pecan tassie baking pan.

German Chocolate Coffeecake and Mini Pecan Danish
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. or 2-3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 4:30-6 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 14
Learn how to make two popular items in Zehnder’s Bakery. German Chocolate Coffeecake filled with chocolate chips, coconut and almond paste and Mini Pecan Danish, a light buttery Danish topped with gooey caramel and pecans. You will learn hands-on techniques and take home your creations.

Decorating Holiday Cookies
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 2-2:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 3-4:30 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m.
Cost $35 – Class Limit 18
Learn how to decorate three of our sugar cookies – Santa Faces, Reindeer and Snowman. Learn the techniques used by our professionals as you decorate 6 large cookies to take home and also different ways to use the same cut-out cookie. Class also includes 2 decorating tips, bag and spatula to keep.

Hosting a Holiday Party
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 100
A great girls night out…enjoy wine and hors d’eourves, participate in hands-on activities and watch our expert staff demos to help you prepare for the holidays. Includes a holiday wine glass to take home, choice of two glasses of wine, appetizer buffet and a special discount coupon for our Retail Marketplace.

Savory Muffins and Granola Banana Split
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 15
Pastry Chef Brandon Reeve will teach you how to make savory muffins for breakfast or snack time that include cheeses, sausage bits and bacon bits. While your muffins are baking, you will learn how to turn a classic ice cream treat into a healthy breakfast version of a banana split with home-made granola. You will take home a minimum of 6 muffins, muffin tin, a banana split and extra granola.

Chocolate Truffle Surprise Pie
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 3-4:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Cost $35 – Class Limit 15
Chocolate Truffle Surprise Pie is an award-winning pie. It has a white chocolate layer, a raspberry jam layer is filled with a decadent home-made chocolate custard. The outside is covered in whipped cream and garnished with snowflakes made out of pie crust. You will take home the 9-inch Chocolate Truffle Surprise Pie you have created.

Giant Santa Cupcake Cake
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 3-4:30 p.m.
Cost $35 – Class Limit 15
Learn from on of our professional cake decorators, Chris Crudup, how to transform a giant cupcake cake into an adorable Santa Face. The cupcake cake, icing, bags and tips will be provided. It will make a perfect centerpiece for your holiday table.

Date Bars and Date Cookies
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 7-8:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 18
Old fashioned date bars are simply delicious. Date filling is spread over a beautifully browned crumb crust. Our date cookies are sugar cookie circles with date filling inside. You will learn how to make both and take home a tray of bars and a dozen cookies.

Mini Dessert Plate
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 9-11 a.m. or 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10 from 9-11 a.m.
Cost $45 – Class Limit 14
Rustic berry tarts, cream puffs, eclairs and mint Oreo truffles are going to make a wonderful holiday dessert plate. Jennifer Lannin, our Pastry Chef, will show you how to create a professional looking tray of sweets for your holiday parties. Class includes plate with a minimum of 12 mini items to take home. All supplies included.

Gingerbread House
Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 4:30-6 p.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 20
Create your own 15-inch tall Gingerbread House. We will guide you step-by-step through the process. All supplies included.
