We’re Open!!

By Al Zehnder, CEO of Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth

I’ve been waiting to write this article for about 16 months. As of October 31st, our spectacular addition to Zehnder’s Splash Village will be open. We are officially naming our new waterpark attraction, Atrium Park. Our existing park will be called Splash Park.
The last week two weeks has been a flurry of activity. The activity pools, action river and family hot tub were all completed and passed inspection. Our concession area within the park, The Mushroom Grille, is open and ready for business. All of our tables, chairs, chaises, and cabanas have been set in place. The final details of the theming are complete.

The most exciting part of the past few days has been the commissioning of our new water rides, the Tantrum Twist and the Super Loop. My family and I were part of the test group and all I can say is, “wow”. My wife, myself and two young children were absolutely impressed with the balance of excitement, speed and safety of our four person family raft ride, The Tantrum Twist.

View the Tantrum Twist 4-person family raft ride experience:

Starting six stories above ground within in the park, four guests climb on a cloverleaf shaped tube and with a gentle nudge the fun begins. Ninety percent of the ride is outside the park winding its way through tubes and vortexes to the splash pool (with smiles on everyone’s face) back inside some 30 seconds later. Very cool family experience.

View the Super Loop Speed Slide experience:

The Super Loop. Six stories above the ground. I climbed into the “phone booth” sized launch pod. “What am I doing”, I thought to myself.  As the door is shut and latched the sound of a beating heart is heard within the booth. There is a “panic button” if you decide not to go. Then the countdown is heard; “3,2, 1 – Launch”.  The floor drops from beneath your feet. The first sensation is “I’m falling” as you literally drop about 40 feet until the curve of the ride “catches” you and you twist and turn at nearly 30 mph to the splash pool. Total ride time is about 6.9 seconds of “oh my gosh”. Super cool.

My family, staff and a team of world class professionals have worked to present you with what we think, is one of the best family experiences in the nation.
As you are planning your next family break keep Zehnder’s and Zehnder’s Splash Village in mind; where memories are made one family at a time!

Welcome to Wow!

Sincerely,

Al Zehnder, CEO of Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth
