Zehnder’s Takes Home Top Honors at 25th American Culinary Federation’s Annual Hot Food Competition

[PHOTOS] Once again, Zehnder’s played host to the American Culinary Federation Professional Chefs 25th Annual Hot Food Competition. Culinary students and local chefs competed in the finale event of Zehnder’s Snowfest on January 30, 2017 within 4 categories – Beef, Poultry, Pork, Pastry and Food and Beer. This year’s event featured “a Culinary Salute to German Cuisine” with proceeds benefiting the Saginaw East Side Soup Kitchen After School Dinner Program.
For only $30, spectators enjoyed the grand buffets which included German favorites such as Spanferkel – Oktoberfest Hofbrauhaus Bier and Butter Basted Whole Roasted Pig and Leberkese – Roasted Bavarian Pork Loaf with German Spices and much more. The buffet foods were prepared and served by the culinary students of Saginaw Career Complex, Tuscola County Tech Center High School in Caro and the Bay Arenac Skill Center. The program also boasted live entertainment by Linda Lee and food samples of over 22 culinary competitor’s creations. Thank you for helping us celebrate a slice of genuine Oktoberfest!
