Springerle Cookies Class

[PHOTOS] Join us for Zehnder’s annual Holiday How To Classes November 13th through the 15th. This year’s Holiday How To’s include:

Braided Butterhorn Coffeecake
Tues. Nov. 13: 9 – 10:30 a.m. or 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 2:30 – 4 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 20
A new “twist” on an old favorite. You will learn how to create a delicious braided wreath-shaped coffeecake containing all the wonderful things you love about traditional butterhorns. While your coffeecake is baking, you will be shown step-by-step, how to master the dough-making process.

Decorated Holly Cookie Platter
Tues. Nov. 13: 2:15 p.m. – 4 p.m. 
Wed. Nov. 14: 2:30 – 4:15 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 9 – 10:45 a.m.
Cost $45 – Class Limit 20
In this class, you will learn from start to finish how to create a beautiful yet edible holiday centerpiece. You will roll out all your own sugar cookies. While the cookies bake, you will mix frosting colors to the shades you like. Then you will frost, decorate and assemble them on a platter to take home. All supplies and two cookie cutters included.

Santa Cookie Gift Box
Tues. Nov. 13: 3 – 4:30 p.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 20
Learn how to create adorable Santa cookies packaged to be the perfect holiday gift. You will make a Santa hat, belly, two boots, two mittens and snowflakes. All supplies you need will be included.

Gingerbread House
Tues. Nov. 13: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Cost $40 – Class Limit 25
Create your own 15-inch tall Gingerbread House. We will guide you step-by-step through the process. All supplies included.

Hosting a Holiday Party
Tues. Nov. 13: 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Cost $45 – Reservation Limit 100
A great girls night out…enjoy wine and hors d’eourves, participate in hands-on activities and watch our expert staff demos to help you prepare for the holidays. Includes a holiday wine glass to take home, choice of two glasses of wine, appetizer buffet and a special discount coupon for our Retail Marketplace.

Stollen Coffeecake & Mini Almond Danish
Tues. Nov. 13: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Cost $45 – Class Limit 20
If you like our Stollen Bread, you will love our Stollen Coffeecake. Learn step-by-step how to make this fruit-filled treat. While your coffeecake is baking, you will learn how to make delicious mini almond Danish to take home.

Cream Puff Christmas Tree
Tues. Nov. 13: 9 – 10:45 a.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 6 – 7:45 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 9 – 10:45 a.m.
Cost $45 – Class Limit 14
Create a Christmas tree made entirely out of cream puffs. You will start the class learning how to pipe your cream puff shells from a pastry bag. While your puffs are baking, you will be shown how to make the perfect “pate a choux” (cream puff dough). Once the puffs cool, you will fill them with homemade custard and stack them into a crowd-pleasing centerpiece.

Iris Card Folding
Tues. Nov. 13: 10:30 – 12 noon
Wed. Nov. 14: 2:30 – 4 p.m.

Learn the art of folding paper to make intricate holiday cards. These beautiful hand-crafted cards will be saved for many years to come by their receivers. All supplies will be provided to make two cards to take home.

Gourmet Grilled Cheese with Maple Carrot Ginger Soup
Tues. Nov. 13: 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 2:30 – 4 p.m. or 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cost $45 – Class Limit 16
Learn from our Sous Chef Lance Buchinger how to create the perfect fall lunch. Learn step-by-step how to create a gourmet grilled cheese filled with brie, fig and apple on sourdough bread. You will also learn how to create a delicious Maple Carrot Ginger Soup. These dishes are sure to impress all your guests.

Springerle Cookies

Wed. Nov. 14: 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Chad’s back to teach the old German art of Springerle making. Springerle is an anise-flavored cookie imprinted with a mold for a beautiful picture. These cookies are old-time favorites made during the holidays at Zehnder’s and look nice on a cookie tray or as a gift.

Holiday Dinner Stuffed Croissant Pockets
Tues. Nov. 13: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Wed. Nov. 14: 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Thurs. Nov. 15: 9 – 10:45 a.m.

Have you ever wondered what you were going to do with all your holiday leftovers? This class is the perfect solution to your problem. Learn how to take leftovers and turn them into something entirely new and delicious. All your holiday foods wrapped up in a homemade croissant dough. Take home 6 pockets and a biscuit cutter.
