It’s that time of year when the kids are back at college, weekends are filled with footballs, tailgate parties and falling leaves that take over driveways. Here at Zehnder’s, certain events signal the beginning of our Fall season: mums take the place of begonias, the aerating of The Fortress Golf Course is complete, pumpkins are beginning to spring up as decorations and our first delivery of Blue Hubbard Squash has arrived.
In Zehnder’s Bakery, we feature our Fall specials such as pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin sour cream coffee cake and apple strudel. In our Marketplace, we will demonstrate some of the special talents of our employees by offering a variety of Fall Bakery Classes. Plan to attend the 3-week Beginning Cake Decorating Class on September 14, 21 & 28, 2016 starting at 6:30 p.m. where Valarie Paige, our bakery cake decorator will teach you how to make flowers, borders, designs and other cake decorating techniques that she has learned in her career at Zehnder’s. On the last night of class, you will decorate and take home an 8-inch layered cake.
Also this fall, be part of the fun in the Parent/Child Halloween Treats Class made especially for kids on Tuesday, October 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. Kids will learn how to make Halloween-themed cookie treats while spending quality time together. It is sure to be a memory-making experience. All supplies are included.
New this year, we’re showing you how to take a classic treat – Pumpkin Pie and create another scrumptious dessert during our Pumpkin Roll Class. Anyone can make this simple dessert using pumpkin cake and cream cheese filling rolled into a log for easy cutting and serving. Learn how to make pumpkin roll from start to finish and then take it home for everyone to enjoy.
So plan a visit this fall to Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth and let Mother Nature take care of the leaves in the driveway. Visit our Events Calendar for more information on our upcoming Fall classes or call 800-863-7999, ext. 450 for more information or to make reservations.
