Zehnder’s plays host to the American Culinary Federation Professional Chefs 23rd Annual Hot Food Competition. Culinary students and local chefs will compete in the finale event
of Zehnder’s Snowfest on January 26th, 2015 within 4 categories – Beef, Poultry, Pork and Pastry. This year’s event features “Cruisin’ the Caribbean – a Culinary Salute to Tropical Island Cuisine” with proceeds benefiting the Saginaw East Side Soup Kitchen After School Dinner Program.
For only $30, spectators can enjoy the grand buffets which includes tropical favorites such as Whole Roasted Pig, Trinidad Pigeon Peas and Rice with Shrimp, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Coconut Shrimp, Tobago Goat Curry, Cuban’s National Dish Ropa Viejas and much more. The buffet foods are prepared and served by the culinary students of Saginaw ISD High School, Tuscola County Tech Center High School and Mott Community College. The program also includes live entertainment with Calypso Island Vibes of Russ Clement and Throttle Up DJ Todd Payne and the opportunity to sample over 22 culinary competitor’s creations.
