Chef John Zehnder, CEC, ACE, OGT, AAC was the ACF Central Region Recipient of the 2011 Hermann Rusch Chef’s Achievement Award at the ACF Central Region Convention on April 19 in New Orleans. The Hermann Rusch Chef’s Award is presented annually honoring chefs who have demonstrated the highest commitment to both the American Culinary Federation and the culinary profession. Such chefs, through their involvement with and constributions to the ACF and the culinary craft, have advanced the profession and ensured the enrichment of culinary students, members and those in the profession. Candidates are worthy of carrying ont he proud tradition of the chef for whom it was named, Hermann G. Rusch, AAC (1907-1997).
There are four annual recipients for this award – one from each of the four ACF regions. The entire membership of the ACF will vote on a National Hermann Rusch Award winner who will be named at the ACF National Convention in Dallas, Texas. ACF Central Region is a 16 state area that encompasses Minnesota/Michigan/North Dakota to the north and Texas and Louisiana to the south.
