Geez, what a year this has been. One minute our businesses are filled with guests then next moment closed. Then we’re open again with capacity limits. Then closed again. Never in the history of our company have our dining rooms closed for Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas; and this location has been serving the public since 1856 and under our family’s leadership since 1929. That’s been the nature of our industry throughout 2020. And sadly, for many in our industry; 2020 will be their last year in business. Family businesses, legacy companies just gone forever.
I’ve asked our team to try to identify the positive we have learned through the experience of managing through a pandemic. New processes, procedures, products or business opportunities. How can we leverage our experience for an even healthier company for the future. I am proud of our team; they have learned how to pivot and take advantage of opportunities when there seemed to be none.
I’ve always lived by the simple mantra “Relationships Matter”. We will get through this because of the great relationships we have with our employees, vendors, and guests. Thanks for being there for us. We will continue to be here for you.
To all of you have a blessed and successful New Year. Looking forward to getting back to business.
