Zehnder’s Fall Food Events and Holiday Happenings

The Bavarian-theme town of Frankenmuth, only 90 miles north of Detroit, is gearing up for bountiful autumn and Christmas holiday events for visitors. The fun began on October 21 with Zehnder’s seventh annual Squashoberfest Soup, Sweet and Savory contest for home cooks and amateur chefs co-sponsored by Michigan’s Pioneer Sugar and WSGW-AM. Executive Chef John Zehnder and his culinary team will present the Zehnder’s Autumn Wild Game Dinner on November 6. The dinner will be presented using the small plates dining concept to encourage guests to taste many of the unique menu offerings including Petite Pheasant Meatballs, Roast Breast of Duck Grand Marnier, Venison Lasagna and two special wine selections. Tickets are $60 per person including tax and gratuity; reservations are required.

Every year Zehnder’s offers several Holiday-How-To classes to learn to bake and decorate desserts, breads and the traditional Gingerbread House. Class sizes are limited and this popular series sells out fast for its varied November dates. Included in the series is a special Hosting a Holiday Party event on November 10 beginning at 4:30 p.m. It’s a perfect girl’s night out with wine, hors d’oeuvres, hands-on activities and expert demonstrations. Reservations required; tickets are $40 per person.

This year the Zehnder’s Holiday Show features “The Marlins,” a four-brother variety show that has entertained audiences throughout the country. Enjoy favorite holiday tunes as the quartet entertains with harmonious voices and 20 instruments. Tickets are $48 per person, December 1 and 2; pricing for both shows include dinner, tax, gratuity and entertainment. Reservations are required.
