Work Performed:

  • Set-up of early morning kitchen facilities of the food production equipment as well as the end of shift closing and cleaning duties.
  • Review of the special party/event functions.
  • Provide necessary production of foods so as to not have uninterrupted flow of product.
  • Daily checking the coolers and freezers to insure proper utilization of leftovers and rotation of foods to insure freshness.
  • Compliance to the recipe standards and proper portioning of food items.
  • Preparation of employee meals.
  • Monitor temperatures of food and cooling units on regular basis as prescribed by the Saginaw County Health Department.

Dishworker

Department: Food and Beverage–Main Kitchen

Position: Dishworker

Function: The timely supply of clean and sanitary dishware, glasses, silver, pots and pans to the proper service areas.  Additionally, maintenance of the island beverage/soup area, cleaning spills and messes, and the proper tear down of the work area in the evening.

Work Performed:

1.  The daily set up of the machines in the work area and the cleaning of the                            previous day’s dirty dishes.

2.  Heating of soup cups, plates, odds, and other necessities for the opening of                        business and replacing them in the proper location for use.

3.  The expedient washing of dishware, silver, and glasses during the regular                           business hours and their replacement in the proper location.

4.  Maintains the rules and laws governing proper washing and sanitizing of                            dishware, as established by the Saginaw County Health Department.

5.  Maintains an overall safe and sanitary work area as defined by the Saginaw                        County Health Department and the State of Michigan safety standards.

6.  Maintenance of the island area of the service department; supplying coffee,                        soup broth, noodles, etc.  IN the proper amounts and in a timely fashion.

7.  Washing of pots and pans in compliance to the health codes and in proper                          amounts to user areas.

8.  Assists servers/service area in the cleaning of dropped trays and spills.

9.  Assists in the salad or hot line in the event of need.

10.  Removal of trash, getting laundry, and other such odd jobs.

11.  Service of the lower level with foods, dishes, and help as is necessary and in                      compliance to the policies of Zehnder’s.

12.  Proper cleaning  of the work area t the end of the evening.

13.  Proper cleaning of the dishworker’s restroom area, daily.

14.  Any other tasks as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk continually, lift minimum of 25 lbs.

Fortress Grounds

Department: The Fortress

Position: Groundskeeper

Function: Groundskeepers, under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent or Crew Chief, are responsible for the day to day care and maintenance of designated areas of the golf course; perform semi-skilled construction and maintenance work; and perform related tasks as requested.

Work Performed:

1.  Operates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, apron, tees, around fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges rakes and maintains sand bunkers.

2.  Sets tee markers and cups on greens daily; maintains ball washers; replaces teetowels and flags as needed; remove debris; sands and seed tee divots; and cleans flower beds.

3.  Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems to the Equipment Manager immediately.

4.  Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance barn and cleans the maintenance areas.

5.  Waters and fertilize trees, greens and fairways.

6.  Manual excavation for irrigation and drainage pipe.

7.  Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time and perform physical labor.  Lift minimum of 75 lbs.  In season 6 day work week.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Age Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Other Requirements: Knowledge of the tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape area construction and maintenance work.  Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.  Ability to follow oral and written directions.
