Department: Food & Beverage – Main Kitchen
Position: Dish Supervisor
Reports To: Kitchen Manager
Function: Responsible for the efficient and sanitary operation of the dish machine areas; supply the various production and service areas with a clean and appropriate supply of dishes, glasses, and silver in an adequate and timely fashion.
Work Performed:
• Check for absent and/or tardy employees at the start of work shifts; fill in vacancies.
• Position the area employees at the various workstations, ensure all positions are covered with individuals capable of performing the task properly.
• Coordinate and delegate the various duties of the department; work with staff to ensure proper delivery of needs to the user departments and ensure proper utilization of labor dollars.
• Maintain control over the “outside areas” assigned to the dish area – pots/pans, islands, compactor, lower level. Standards must be in accordance with the health department regulations.
• Maintain an overall safe and sanitary work area as defined by the Saginaw County Health Department and the State of Michigan safety standards.
• Help new employees in their orientation to work.
• Communicate daily with the dish machine foreman, staff, and kitchen manager.
• Attend various management meetings as required.
• Any other tasks as requested by management.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk continually, lift minimum of 25 lbs. Work in high volume environment.
Other Requirements: Leadership and communication skills. Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Age Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older
