Department: Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark
Position: Assistant Director of Hotel Operations
Reports To: Director of Hotel and Waterpark Operations
Function: Supports the Director of Hotel and Waterpark Operations in the daily leadership of Zehnder’s Splash Village and The Mill at Zehnder Park. Help ensure consistent delivery of high standards in guest service, housekeeping, food quality, group functions, and front-of-the-house operations while contributing to the property’s financial success.
Work Performed:
- Supports implementation of service standards and systems that reflect Zehnder’s vision, mission, core values, and which meet or exceed the expectations of the guest. Supports all efforts in maintaining the property as the #1 market leader.
- Assists the Director of Hotel Operations in overseeing and ensuring company policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
- Clearly and effectively communicates property goals to entire Hotel staff. Maintains regular communications with corporate support departments including Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and Maintenance.
- Demonstrates daily guest service successes and ensures “Every Guest Leaves Satisfied”.
- Assists in budget tracking, reporting, and preparation under the direction of the Director of Hotel and Waterpark Operations.
- Helps monitor and optimize room revenue and occupancy through collaboration with the Director and departmental managers.
- Responsible for maintaining margins and efficiency costs of producing goods and services.
- Conducts regular accountability meetings with managers, supervisors, and staff. Makes regular physical property site tours and attends other meetings as assigned or directed.
- Trains and develops key management and supervisory employees.
- Develops working knowledge of and manages hotel departments including Sales, Front Desk, Call Center, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Computer Systems and Administration.
- Participates in community organizations and industry associations as directed.
- Maintains all property emergency procedures with the property management team and staff to ensure a safe environment for our guests and employees.
- Maximizes cross marketing opportunities at all four divisions and professionally represents the “Zehnder’s” brand, its vision, mission, and core values.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
Experience: 8-12 years of hospitality experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
