CPR Saves Lives

Over one million guests pass through our properties each year. About 900,000 dine at our flagship restaurant Zehnder’s, over 125,000 guest spend leisure time at Zehnder’s Splash Village, over 25,000 guests enjoy a round of golf at our championship facility The Fortress and hundreds of thousands visit our retail facility Zehnder’s Marketplace.

While unfortunate, but not very often, we are faced with providing life saving assistance to one of our employees or guests. While 90% of people that suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest will die, according to the American Heart Association effective bystander intervention provided immediately doubles or triples the victims chance of survival.

We made the commitment long ago that each of our managers and supervisors, from the top on down, will be trained in basic life support.

May was re-certification time for us. Over a two day period 56 of our managers and supervisors were trained in CPR, the Heimlich Maneuver and proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator – AED’s. In addition, all of our nearly 90 lifeguards are certified as part of their more extensive training.

It’s the kind of training we all hope we never need to put in use, but we are here to insure that in any situation you can count on us. You have my name on it.

Sincerely,

Al Zehnder, CEO of Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth
