Gloria Cislo is Zehnder’s Mother of the Year 2012!

May 16, 2012

Zehnder’s Restaurant, located in the Bavarian town of Frankenmuth, opened its doors for business on Mother’s Day, 1928, when Zehnder’s chefs served up a total of 312 chicken dinners. Since then, hundreds of thousands of guests have enjoyed the Mother’s Day tradition at Zehnder’s, and Zehnder’s has come to know Mother’s Day as one of the busiest days of the year serving nearly 5,000 guests. In celebration of Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, Zehnder’s sponsored its 21st annual Mother of the Year contest.

Zehnder’s 2012 Mother of the Year was awarded to Gloria Cislo of Southgate, Michigan! Noah Cislo submitted the winning poem on why his mom should be Mother of the Year. Gloria won a Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth Mother’s Day dinner for up to 10 family members, an overnight package for four at Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel and Waterpark and a recognition plaque. Congratulations Gloria!

My mom is the best
She is nice and pretty
She gives me big hugs
And is as cuddly as a kitty

She helps me with homework
And feeds me when it’s time to eat
She’s the best mom ever,
I think she’s really neat

I love you mom!

Noah Cislo, 10 years old
