Preparing for the Christmas Season

Oct 31, 2025

By Al Zehnder, Chairman of Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth

As November arrives, Frankenmuth begins to sparkle with the spirit of Christmas. Crews are wrapping the trees along our main street with twinkling lights, wreaths and garlands are appearing on storefronts. The outdoor skating rink at Zehnder Park is beginning to take shape. The smell of gingerbread fills our bakery, and fruitcake and other seasonal baked goods are now on our shelves.

Frankenmuth takes pride in preparing our community for the Christmas season – not just to attract customers but to share in the joy that binds our community together. We call it the Frankenmuth Christmas Experience.

The annual lighting ceremony on November 18th brings everyone together for the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree, a Christmas candle walk and the official opening of the skating rink. Details can be found on our Chamber of Commerce website at www.frankenmuth.org.

The elves at Zehnder’s are busy getting each of our businesses decorated for the Christmas season. Once again, they’ve outdone themselves. It’s worth your time just to browse our dining rooms, halls and lobbies. Check our website, www.zehnders.com for our schedule of Holiday How To’s, our very popular cooking and baking classes that fill up fast.

More than just decoration, it’s the tradition of Frankemuth – a sign that we recognize Christmas as a very special season. Once done, our community feels like something out of a Christmas card, confirmation that in our small town we want to make the Christmas season shine the brightest.

Be a part of the Frankenmuth Christmas season with us – it’s Pure Michigan.

Hospitably Yours,

Al Zehnder, Chairman
