Zehnder's Splash Village invests in Lifeguard training for your safety

By Al Zehnder, CEO of Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth

Each year, over 150,000 guests enjoy the aquatic fun provided in each of our two indoor waterparks. Zehnder’s Splash Village Aquatic Team is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for each of our guests.

Before being hired, each lifeguard must have a valid certification through the American Red Cross which includes training in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, AED and administering emergency oxygen. Once they are a part of our team, each lifeguard goes through an additional 20-25 hours of training with one of our two, in-house Water Safety Consultants. All new lifeguards are assigned to an experienced lifeguard, for up to three days, before allowed to work a station on their own.

Our lifeguards are subject to continuous daily training, we call them audits; throughout their employment. In 2017, our Water Safety Consultants completed 22,385 audits!

Our aquatics leadership team is led by our Aquatics Operations Manager, Chris Bartnikowski. Chris has completed his Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration in addition to many American Red Cross and industry certifications and has been in the aquatics industry since 1987. During peak season, Chris and his team of supervisors and head lifeguards, manage a group of over 100 lifeguards on our staff. In addition, each of our managers and supervisors, from the top on down, are required to have a current CPR certification.

Whether at Zehnder’s – our world famous restaurant, The Fortress – our championship golf facility, splashing the day away at Zehnder’s Splash Village or just browsing our retail area – Zehnder’s Marketplace, your safety is important to us.

You have my name on it!

Sincerely,

Al Zehnder, CEO
