Zehnder’s Chef Jennifer Reeves Awarded ACF Flint/Saginaw Valley Chef of the Year

Mott Community College Culinary Arts Institute in Flint hosted the annual American Culinary Federation Gala Awards Dinner on Monday, February 17, 2020. Here at Zehnder’s, we are proud to announce that Pastry Chef Jennifer Reeve, Certified Working Pastry Chef was awarded “Chef of the Year”. This award is voted on by the membership of the ACF Flint/Saginaw Valley Chapter.

The American Culinary Federation is the professional organization of chefs, cooks, bakers and pastry chefs. The Flint/Saginaw Valley Chapter is comprised of 125 members in Mid-Michigan.

Chef Jen, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has headed our Pastry Department for 14 years. She has won numerous awards over the years in the chapter’s Professional Chefs Hot Food Competition. Zehnder’s Chef Lance Buchinger Elected Vice President of ACF Flint/Saginaw Valley Chapter

In addition to Chef Jen, Zehnder’s is proud to annouce that Sous Chef Lance Buchinger, CSC was elected chapter Vice President. Chef Lance has also served as chapter treasurer. He joined our culinary team in 2008 after graduating from the Mott Community College Culinary Arts Institute. Chef Lance has won several culinary accolades and is involved in many charitable projects. He is a lead volunteer chef with the Frankenmuth Farmer’s Market where he works on community specialty dinners, projects and outreaches.
