May 30, 2014

Bill Parlberg, C.O.O. of Zehnder’s and Michigan Travel Commissioner attended the Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism held on March 9 through March 11, 2014 in Traverse City to discuss and celebrate the success of the Pure Michigan campaign. The Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism is an educational and networking opportunity, with more than 1,000 tourism and economic development stakeholders in attendance annually.

This conference is primarily intended to focus on the current state of tourism in Michigan and how to enhance Michigan tourism as a whole.

Last year more than 4 million trips were made to Michigan by out-of-state visitors influenced by the Pure Michigan campaign, according to the 2013 report by Longwoods International. The economic impact of these trips for Michigan businesses was a record $1.2 billion.

Bill was appointed to the Michigan Travel Commission by Governor Rick Snyder in 2013.

Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth is proud to have Bill serve on the Michigan Travel Commission as well as many other boards and committees.
