Check Out What’s New at The Fortress

Apr 30, 2015

As golf season gets underway in Frankenmuth, we are very excited to announce a few changes by The Fortress Golf Course for 2015. This year brings many new programs, and various improvements created to grow the game in the area for all ages. As we have stated in previous newsletters, the staff addition of P.G.A. Professional Kyle Martin will be a welcome addition to the course, bringing his vast experience of instruction and club fitting to guests.

Kyle teaches players of all ages, including players representing Michigan State, Ferris State University, Alma College, Rochester College, Oakland University, Western Michigan University, and Grand Valley State University. Individual 1 hour lessons for juniors and adults are available as well as the junior golf camp beginning Tuesday, June 23rd.

Another addition to The Fortress Golf Course for 2015 is the FLIGHT SCOPE Launch Monitor. The launch monitor will allow you to be properly fit for equipment to ensure the correct purchase. The confidence gained knowing each club in your bag is set up to perform optimally for you is invaluable. This is done through observing your ball flight statistics to find the ideal ball flight. The Flight Scope will serve many purposes including maximizing driver distance, optimizing fairway wood/hybrid combination, and dialing in how far each of your clubs travels. Getting custom built equipment isn’t any more expensive as off the rack sets of clubs, but gives you an added benefit to be built to your specifications. For any questions regarding instruction and club fitting, stop on in and see Kyle in the golf shop, reach him via telephone at (989) 652-0461, or email

In addition, last fall we began a remodeling project on our driving which is set to be completed mid to late May. The tee box has been extended and a new upper tee box has been added. We have also improved some of the targets on the range as well as developed a full chipping green. We are excited for the new improvements to our driving range and look forward to seeing you down there working on your golf game!
