Department: Landmark Lounge
Position: Food & Beverage Supervisor
Reports To: Assistant Director of Hotel Operations
Function: The Food & Beverage Supervisor will interact with guests, staff, vendors, and other departments to provide a unique and luxury experience. The Supervisor will also guide and direct frontline staff within the department by providing hands-on and do-by example leadership to achieve customer service and financial goals.
Work Performed:
1. Assist with cultivating a luxury food and beverage experience for guests throughout the Landmark Lounge – must do so by engaging, educating, and leading staff while efficiently operating the lounge and its activities with mandatory floor presence and table touches.
2. Observe, correct, and coach F&B staff in customer service, up-selling, service standards, and basic F&B sanitation guidelines.
3. Understand, follow, and uphold responsible beverage vendor training and application for serving alcoholic beverages.
4. Responsible for daily operation financial decisions: daily payroll, financial objectives, cashiering, and receiving product from vendors.
5. Schedule bartenders, cashier, hosts, banquet staff, etc.
6. Train incoming staff for the department.
7. Set agendas and information used in staff meetings, run staff meetings with direct manager.
8. Maintain knowledge of products used to assist in customer selection, order and inventory of necessary items (food, liquor, linens, etc.)
9. Prepare all beverages for serving:
· Mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, using garnishes when necessary.
· Serve beers, pour fountain beverages; uncork or decant wine, prepare glasses.
· Wash and prepare glassware.
10. Work with kitchen/restaurant equipment including, but not limited to coffee brewers, juicers, soda fountain machines, knives, and blenders.
11. Maintain and uphold cleanliness of bar and lounge area.
12. Bar and lounge set up and breakdown along with assigning and verifying daily side work.
13. Any other tasks as requested by management.
Physical Requirements: While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, type, talk, and hear. May include working indoors/outdoors and heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs.)
Other Requirements: Previous work experience with Open Table, Micros or similar POS programs. Previous bartending and Food & Beverage experience. Alcohol awareness training such as TAMs, TIPS, etc. Good communication skills (verbal and written), friendly and outgoing personality, excellent manners and a positive attitude. Previous hotel, Guest Service, or hospitality/tourism experience. A willingness to learn, change, and grow. Strong customer focus and emotional intelligence. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, multitask efficiently being able to prioritize what needs to be done – involvement with multiple guests and tasks simultaneously. Accuracy, knowledge, and efficiency when working in a fast-paced environment, and ability to work under pressure.
Must be available to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Inventory is taken at the end of each month after operational business hours; staff will rotate though to take part in this.
Age Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older.
