For those old enough to remember the TV sitcom, Dragnet, Sergeant Joe Friday was famous for saying “Just the facts ma’am, just the facts.” With that thought in mind, we’d like to dispel some of the myths surrounding Zehnder’s.
“There’s a tunnel between Zehnder’s and the Bavarian Inn”
During the construction of Zehnder’s lower level, family member, Fred Zehnder, a local prankster and practical joker; thought he’d have a little fun with our guests by telling them that we were building a tunnel to the Bavarian Inn so that we could have a common kitchen between the two operations.
Fast forward to today and we still have folks who from time to time ask or comment about “the tunnel to Bavarian Inn”. I know Fred is up in heaven still giggling about it!
“Zehnder’s Restaurant only sells chicken”
Although we are very proud that the Family Style Chicken Dinner is our signature item, Zehnder’s offers a wide variety of menu options for our guests including special dietary and vegetarian menus. For a complete listing of our menus, click here.
We wondered if any other long time businesses in Frankenmuth also have myths surrounding their history. And to our surprise, we found that Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland is faced with the same dilemma.

“Bronner’s offers no food or beverage”
Not true! Included with the 50,000 trims and gifts is the Bronner’s “Season’s Eatings” snack area which seats about 125 people and sells Christmas cookies and light snacks and refreshments year-round. In fact, Bronner’s has available for purchase their staff favorites cookbooks which are sure to be your favorites too. For that special someone, try this Bronner’s Bubbly Valentine Love Potion recipe:

1 (12 ounce) can of Sprite
1. In a pitcher, mix the lemonade concentrate
2. In a blender, combine the sherbet with 4 cups of the lemonade mixture; mix until combined. Pour into individual glasses. Add the soda, stir gently and serve.
